"What makes this bowl so special is how stable it is. When I was given the log sections that it came from, I prepared for dissappointment. Cherry is prone to cracking and it happens both early and late. I turned 5 large bowls from this log section and four of them had small cracks on their base. I expected this one to do the same. After it was green turned, I waxed it and put it in a box for several months. Them it went into my kiln. When it came out for returning, no cracks. It will make a great center piece for any table and can be used for salads if properly cared for.
This bowl will develop a patina over the years. This speaks of the many hands that have held it. I hope that this bowl will be passed down through many generations." -Greg Thomas
