"I like pear because it is so stable and so much fun to turn when greg. I turned this bowl green and let it dry and then returned it. It moved a bit as it dried but that is a dynamic that makes turning green wood fun.
Many turners dye or paint this light colored wood, but if left alone it will turn a deep reddish brown which appeals to me. The bark on the natural edge should stay attached with careful handling.
Your bowl will continue to darken and develop a patina after years of use. This is a good thing, it speaks of the many hands and uses that the bowl has experienced.
